Turpentine Derivatives
Classified by the preparation process, turpentine is divided into: Gum Turpentine (GT), Wood Turpentine, and Crude Sulphate Turpentine (CST). CST is a by-product of the pulp manufacturing process. GT is obtained by distillation from pine oleoresin, with the majority of its content consisting of monoterpenes. The gum turpentine derivatives supplied by FOREVEREST® primarily comes from the genus .Pinus species.
The current global annual production of natural turpentine is approximately 165,000 metric tons, of which 60,000 tons of natural turpentine will be processed into various fragrance components totaling 45,000 tons. (Alain Frix, 2023) Every year, approximately 120,000 metric tons of CST are produced globally, with 85,000 tons dedicated to fragrance components. The combined production of gum turpentine and CST derivatives is around 130,000 metric tons, accounting for 21% of the global fragrance components.
Furthermore, we develop downstream natural monoterpenes to conduct our business.
