Electrode Slurries

The quality of the positive and negative electrode sheets depends on how the electrode slurry is prepared. In the manufacturing process of lithium batteries, it is the first step in the production of electrode sheets. The electrode slurry is usually prepared by mixing active materials, conductive agents, binders, dispersants, solvents, and additives in the right proportions. Since components like active materials, conductive agents, solvents, etc., do not adhere well to the metal electrode, they cannot be directly coated on the metal foil to make electrode sheets. A binder is needed to hold different particles together and create a stable and adhesive slurry.

In the preparation of battery slurry and photovoltaic (PV) energy slurry paste, a solution is used to disperse and mix various components, creating a uniform slurry that can be coated onto electrode substrates. The choice of solvent depends on the specific materials being used and the requirements of the electrode fabrication process. Water-based systems are gaining popularity due to environmental concerns and safety considerations.
