FOREVEREST^® Modified Rosins are modified based on the conjugated double bonds of Abietic acid type-Resin acids. In the tricyclic skeleton structure of resin acids contain two double bonds and a carboxyl. The conjugated double bonds in this structure cause rosin are oxidized and tarnished easily, and the thermal stability is hard to control. Through modify processing on maleated, hydrogenation, disproportionation and polymerization, which separate the acidic compounds from Abietic acid type-Resin acids, would improving oxidation resistance, crystallinity and the thermal stability. After modifying, rosins have excellent performances on the rosin resin production and specialty applications of adhesives, coatings and paints industries.
