Syensqo introduces humanized, natural ingredients for pet food

Materials company Syensqo announced its debut in the pet nutrition industry with the launch of its new ingredient solutions: Rhovea® Feed and Riza® 35. The company will showcase these pet food-dedicated ingredients at Food Ingredients (Fi) Europe 2025, held Dec. 2 to 4 in Paris.

According to Syensqo, its pet nutrition solution offerings expand upon its ingredient expertise, applying it to the fast-growing pet food and treat industry. The ingredients are inspired by the continued humanization of pet food, aiming to provide processors with taste and quality attributes similar to human foods.

Rhovea Feed is a vanillin, an organic compound that gives vanilla its characteristic flavor and aroma. Designed specifically for pet and animal nutrition, the ingredient can help improve palatability by masking off-notes and enhancing the overall flavor. The ingredient is a white to slightly yellow crystalline powder.

Riza 35 is a highly deodorized rosemary extract that offers strong antioxidant protection in pet food, without impacting its taste or aroma. According to Syensqo, the ingredient contains high carnosic acid for robust oxidation control and touts excellent heat stability for demanding production processes. It is wild-harvested, GMO- and pesticide-free, and sustainably source from Morocco.

In addition to solutions for pet nutrition, Syensqo will also highlight its ingredients for food and beverage manufacturers, from natural antioxidants to different types of vanillin, during Fi Europe.

“These innovations help manufacturers deliver great taste with reliable flavors and preservation solutions, meeting growing demand for more natural ingredients and tastier products,” the company shared.

During the show, the company’s experts will share their technical insights in a session called, “Extending shelf life naturally with rosemary extracts,” demonstrating how rosemary’s natural properties can help processors maintain product freshness and stability without relying on synthetic additives. It will also host live demos at its booth K54 in Hall 7.2.
