Foreverest Resources Ltd. Earns USDA Certified Biobased Product Label

By: Foreverest

Foreverest Resources Ltd. proudly announces that its flagship bio-based agricultural adjuvant, PINEYE™ EC, and its resin product, Acrylic Acid Modified Rosin AR120240, have officially earned the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Certified Biobased Product Label. This certification reinforces the company’s commitment to sustainable innovation and the development of high-performance biobased solutions.

PINEYE™ EC, an advanced plant protection and agricultural adjuvant, plays a crucial role in anti-transpiration, sun protection for fruits and vegetables, pesticide synergism, and slow-release applications. By forming an elastic film on plant surfaces, PINEYE™ EC effectively reduces water loss, enhances pesticide adhesion, and extends the residual activity of agricultural inputs. This improves crop resilience to environmental stressors, leading to better yield and quality. With the USDA Biobased Product Certification, PINEYE™ EC now provides farmers and agricultural professionals with a verified, environmentally friendly alternative to conventional adjuvants.

Comprehensive Introduction to PINEYE™ EC

PINEYE™ EC stands out as a versatile bio-based solution designed to enhance agricultural efficiency and sustainability. Key applications include:

  • Anti-Transpiration for Water Conservation: PINEYE™ EC reduces plant water loss by forming a protective coating that maintains hydration, improving drought resistance and supporting stable growth in arid conditions. (Learn More)
  • Sun Protection for Fruits and Vegetables: The bio-based coating acts as a physical barrier against excessive sunlight, reducing sunburn damage and improving overall crop quality. Studies show improved yield stability under extreme temperatures. (Further Details)
  • Enhanced Pesticide Synergism and Adhesion: PINEYE™ EC increases the efficacy of applied pesticides and fertilizers by enhancing their adhesion and reducing runoff. Research suggests that this results in a more uniform and sustained delivery of active ingredients, optimizing agricultural inputs. (Usage Guide)
  • Slow-Release Agent for Fertilizers: PINEYE™ EC enhances fertilizer absorption and retention in soil, maximizing nutrient uptake by crops while reducing nutrient leaching and waste. (Efficiency Discussion)

This year, we upgraded the PINEYE™ brand. Focusing on the adjuvant product PINEYE™ EC, the company has incorporated plant extracts and monomers with plant protection effects into this brand line. The enhanced PINEYE™ brand line will expand the application of more bio-based products in the fields of plant disease control and feed additives.

  • Biofungicide and Plant Disease Control: Plant extracts and monomers -forming properties contribute to plant disease resistance by limiting pathogen penetration and supporting integrated pest management strategies. (Disease Control Applications)
  • Animal Feed Additive Enhancements: PINEYE™ bio-based monomers have potential applications in improving the bioavailability and stability of plant-derived extracts used in animal nutrition. (Animal Feed Applications)

Acrylic Acid Modified Rosin AR120240: A Sustainable Tackifier Resin

Acrylic Acid Modified Rosin AR120240 is a bio-based tackifier resin derived from modified traditional rosin. Designed for improved adhesion, solubility, and stability, it is widely used in adhesives, coatings, and related industrial applications. As a sustainable alternative to petroleum-based resins, it enhances the performance of pressure-sensitive adhesives, hot-melt formulations, and other bonding materials while supporting environmentally responsible manufacturing practices.

Case Study – Soldering fluxes

Liquid soldering fluxes are essential for removing oxides from PCB (Printed Circuit Board) surfaces. This is achieved through the active properties of rosin acids, which effectively remove surface oxides and improve tinning. Furthermore, Acrylic acid modified rosins create a protective coating over solder joints, preventing reoxidation and ensuring durable, reliable connections. Traditionally, gum rosin has been a key ingredient in flux formulations, accounting for 1–45% by weight in many products. In low-solid or no-clean(free cleaning) flux formulations, gum rosin typically comprises 2–8% by weight, demonstrating its versatility and effectiveness in modern soldering applications.

However, the traditional use of Gum rosin as a raw material in flux formulations has some drawbacks: the sticky residues of Gum Rosin can contaminate PCB surfaces, requiring additional machine maintenance and causing difficulties in downstream processes. As a result, new flux products now adopt modified rosin resin systems, using these modified resins as raw materials for low-solid or no-clean(free cleaning) flux formulations.

After hydrogenation, the color (Fe-Co scale) of acrylic acid modified rosins can be below 1 and the stability is also improved a lot. The product diversity makes it highly suitable for the soldering demands of various electronic application scenarios, especially the performance of high temperature application environment, which can improve the oxidation resistance of the welding surface.

USDA Certification and Sustainability Benefits

The USDA BioPreferred® Program ensures third-party verification of biobased content, supporting the expansion of renewable product markets and reducing the carbon footprint of various industries. Biobased products promote economic growth in rural areas, stimulate innovation, and enhance environmental sustainability by replacing fossil fuel-derived chemicals with renewable alternatives.

“Earning the USDA Certified Biobased Product Label for PINEYE™ EC and Acrylic Acid Modified Rosin AR120240 underscores Foreverest Resources Ltd.’s dedication to providing high-quality, sustainable solutions to our customers.” Sally Hong said. “This recognition helps inform buyers of the environmental and performance benefits of our biobased products, furthering our mission to drive innovation in green chemistry and agricultural technology.”

Richard Hu added “At the beginning of 2025. Despite the challenges posed by the global economic slowdown and geopolitical impacts on supply chains, this year holds a deeper significance for our company.”

“We are honored to have been a key participant in the development of the Guidelines for Evaluating the Carbon Footprint of Gum Rosin and Gum Turpentine, led by the Rosin Division of the China Forest Products Industry Association. This is a form of recognition for us,” he remarked.

“We applaud Foreverest Resources Ltd. for earning the USDA Certified Biobased Product Label,” said Vernell Thompson, USDA BioPreferred Program. “This label serves as a guide for consumers and businesses seeking credible, eco-friendly products while also fostering economic development and reducing reliance on petroleum-based materials. By achieving this certification, Foreverest Resources Ltd. contributes to the growing bioeconomy and strengthens the movement toward sustainable alternatives.”

According to the latest Economic Impact Report from USDA, the biobased products industry supports 4.6 million American jobs, contributes $470 billion to the U.S. economy, and generates 2.79 jobs in other sectors for every biobased job. Furthermore, biobased products help displace approximately 9.4 million barrels of oil annually, with the potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by an estimated 12.7 million metric tons of CO2 equivalents per year. Notably, the program has streamlined its regulations by consolidating previous guidelines into a unified framework under Part 4270.

Foreverest Resources Ltd. remains committed to advancing biobased innovations that empower industries and enhance sustainability. The USDA Certified Biobased Product Label for PINEYE™ EC and Acrylic Acid Modified Rosin AR120240 underscores this dedication, providing consumers and businesses with credible, eco-friendly product options.
