戊基肉桂醛是香水中常见的成分之一。 它是由苯甲醛和正庚醛在溶剂乙二醇中，以氢氧化钾为催化剂，进行羟醛缩合而合成的。 可应用于肥皂、洗涤剂、美容护理产品和家居日化用品的香精配方中。 月桂烯是一种天然的烯类有机化合物。可以从月桂叶、马鞭草、香叶和其他植物的精油中提取。或采用热分解法人工合成，以β-蒎烯为原料，经热分解获得。也可以芳樟醇等作为反应物制得。月桂烯在常温下呈无色或淡黄色油状液体。可以溶于乙醇、乙醚、氯仿等有机溶剂当中，并能与大多数其它香料混合。具有令人愉快的甜香脂气味，用作中间体合成香精香料、古龙香水和消臭剂等。 木馏油，是一种通过加热裂解木材的成分而制得的以酚类化合物为主要成分的混合物，主要成分为愈创木酚 (Guaiacol)、木馏油酚 (Crosol) 及其他酚类。是种烈性消毒剂和防腐剂，有窜透性烟臭，味灼烈，有腐蚀性。微溶于水与沸水，能与乙醇、乙醚、氯仿、冰醋酸、脂肪油与挥发油任意混合，易溶于氢氧化碱溶液，难溶于氨溶液。 杉木烯是种天然混合物提取自杉木，和柏木烯（混合物）性同，可替代使用，二者在香气上略有区别。本规格杉木烯含有60%α-柏木烯，可应用于化妆品、香皂的调香使用。
