α-松油烯为单萜碳水化合物，天然存在于植物精油当中。是蒎烯合成松油醇，樟脑等香料时必然生产的副产物。具有环内共轭双键结构，可与亲双烯体（如乙醛、丙烯醛等）加成，进一步合成木香型、花香型、龙涎香型等香型的加成环化产物；亦可应用于医药或电子焊接剂等领域。 合成α-松油醇由合成松油醇精制而得，天然α-松油醇则是从精油中单离制得。一般工艺上用23%稀硫酸处理松节油，使其中的主成分α-蒎烯转变生一水合萜二醇，将此中间体脱水得到粗制萜品醇，再经分馏，精制制得。α-松油醇呈无色液体或低熔点透明结晶体，伴有紫丁香香气。溶于70%的乙醇溶液中（1:2），微溶于水和甘油。广泛用于配制紫丁香型、柑桔型香精及香水中，亦可用于生产乙酸α-松油酯、二氢α-松油醇及其他合成… α-环氧蒎烷是种单萜烯。它是α-蒎烯的环氧化物，呈无色液体，伴有青香。α-环氧蒎烷广泛用于香精香料配方。 α-甲基肉桂醛是一种带有辛辣肉桂气味的黄色液体。α-甲基肉桂醛用于香精香料、芳香剂、香水、化妆品、肥皂洗涤剂等多个行业，也用于各种日用香精、食品和饮料香精。 α蒎烯由松节油分馏制得，呈液体，伴有松木、针叶和树脂型香气主要用作合成松油醇、芳樟醇及其他檀香型香料原料使用。也可以用于日用化学品或其他工业品加香。（配方含量低于2%） Irone Alpha is extremely diffusive and gives volume and tenacity to compositions.
