聚醋酸乙烯酯通过醋酸乙烯酯（VAM）的聚合制备而成，是一种有弹性的合成聚合物。在水中以乳剂形式用作多孔材料，特别是木材用胶粘剂使用。最常用作木材用胶（白胶水或白胶浆）。也广泛地用于粘合其它材料，如纸、衣料、香烟或制造混凝纸。由于其弹性和低酸性，还可用于印刷装订。
